A set of 4 turned barrels for the German 20mm Oerlikon MG FF aircraft cannons with sights (1:48) from Aber. A metal detail accessory, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an aircraft kit but an accurate metal accessory. The set contains four turned brass barrels of the German 20mm Oerlikon MG FF aircraft cannon together with fine photo-etched sights. The metal parts replace the simplified plastic barrels from the box and give the model a crisp, scale-faithful look.
The MG FF was a licensed variant of the Swiss Oerlikon cannon and was among the typical 20mm armament of German fighters at the beginning of the Second World War. It was installed in the wings as well as in the engine section, and it was marked by the characteristic shape of the barrel muzzle, which is hard to mold faithfully in plastic.
Cut off the plastic barrel, drill a hole of the matching diameter in the remaining part and glue the turned part in with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Take the photo-etched sights carefully out of the fret and glue them in place. We recommend cleaning up with an abrasive stone and working with eye protection.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
