A plastic kit of a medieval stone fortress in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. It is not a piece of hardware but a diorama and gaming building. The fortress consists of several round towers, one square tower with a gate, a bridge with a portcullis and a series of connecting wall segments, so you can put together a closed fortification to your own idea.
A stone fortress makes an impressive backdrop for historical dioramas and for tabletop games with figures. The modular concept allows the ground plan to be changed, towers and walls to be combined or the fortress to be extended step by step. It goes well with figures and horsemen in 1:72 scale and will become a strong focal point of a gaming table or a display case.
Dry-fit the parts and think the layout of the towers and walls through before gluing. For stone, a basic gray or sand tone works well, over which you layer lighter dry highlighting of the edges and darker washes into the joints. A hint of moss, dust and weathered mortar will give the masonry age and a natural look. The tower roofs are rewarding to paint separately.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
