A multimedia kit of the Polish fighter aircraft PZL.24 in 1:72 scale from the brand Azur, in the F/G version with the Greek markings of the Greek Defender. The set combines injection-molded plastic with supplementary parts in resin and photo-etched metal - for example a detailed cockpit with seat belts, the radial engine and the exhaust piping - and it is completed by a clear canopy part and a decal sheet. Thanks to the short-run technology and the resin parts it is intended rather for more advanced modelers.
The PZL.24 was a Polish single-seat low-wing fighter with a characteristic cranked gull wing and a radial engine, the export development of the PZL P.11 type. Because the Polish Air Force flew the home-built P.11, the P.24 was produced purely for export and served in Greece, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria. The Greek machines of the F and G versions stood up to the Italian invasion in 1940 and 1941 and belong to the best-known chapters of this type in service.
Wash the resin parts clean of the remains of the mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, and the resin and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Finish the cockpit and the canopy glazing before closing the fuselage. After spraying the primer, color the model with an airbrush according to the Greek scheme and deepen the weathering with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
