This is a resin conversion set from the manufacturer CMK, not a model of a submarine. The set focuses on the quadruple 20 mm Flak-Vierling anti-aircraft gun on the platform of the conning tower, the so-called Wintergarten. Metal barrels and photo-etched parts give a fine rendering of the weapon. The set is designed for the Revell kit.
As the threat from Allied aircraft grew, Type IX as well as Type VII submarines were armed with heavier anti-aircraft weapons. The 20 mm Flak-Vierling, a group of four barrels, was commonly used on Kriegsmarine vessels and on Wehrmacht vehicles as an effective weapon against low-flying targets.
Separate the parts from the casting blocks, wash and degrease them; glue the metal and photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. We recommend a primer, darker naval gray shades and a final emphasis with a wash and a drybrush.
This is an aftermarket resin accessory, not a model of a submarine. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
