A color display board for a model in 1:72 scale with the motif of the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga (CVA-60). It is made of acrylic 3 mm thick, measures 180 x 357 mm and weighs 210 grams. The rigid sheet does not sag even after a long stand in a display case, and a model stands level on it.
USS Saratoga (CVA-60) was an American Forrestal-class aircraft carrier, that is one of the first generation of genuinely large postwar carriers with an angled landing deck. She spent decades in service with the US Navy, and her deck is a natural setting for models of carrier aircraft.
The board gives a model a setting without your having to build a whole diorama. It suits a display case, an exhibition table and the camera alike, because the colored background unifies the back of a photograph. Simply stand the model on it, or secure it with double-sided tape to be safe. Acrylic is sensitive to scratches: wipe it with a soft cloth rather than a paper towel, and avoid solvents and harsh cleaning agents.
