Omask 1:72 Yak-11 / C-11 mask is a set of cut stencils for covering the glazing and other areas while a trainer in 1:72 scale is painted.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory makes one of the least pleasant parts of a build easier, namely covering the cockpit precisely before spraying. The stencils are cut to the shape of the glazing, so cutting strips and laying pieces of tape across the frames falls away. There is no aircraft model and no paint in the package; it is purely a working aid.
The Yakovlev Yak-11 was a two-seat trainer derived from the Yak-3 fighter but with a radial engine in place of the V12 of the fighter. It appeared shortly after the Second World War and became the main advanced trainer in a whole range of countries. In Czechoslovakia it was built under license as the C-11, and whole generations of military and flying-club pilots learned on it, so it left a far stronger mark there than most Soviet types of the day.
Rid the glazing of grease first, take the mask off the sheet with tweezers and seat it in the frame. Run a toothpick or a stick along the edges so that they settle. Cover the remaining areas with liquid mask or tape. After painting, take the mask off before the paint has dried rock hard; the edge of the frame then comes out cleanly and the clear part stays free of paint residue.
Glue, paints and a kit are not in the package.
