Zvezda — Aircraft Model Stand (Suitable for Various Scales)

A plastic display stand from manufacturer Zvezda, stated as suitable for all scales. It is an accessory, not a kit — the package contains no aircraft model; you are buying only the stand on which you display your finished model. The stand consists of a small number of parts and, once assembled, stands a few centimeters tall, so it lifts the model above the surface without towering over it.

What the Stand Is Good For

• A flight pose. On the stand, the aircraft looks as if it were airborne — you can bank it into a turn or a climb. This brings the model to life far more than simply standing it on its landing gear.
• You don't have to build the landing gear. On aircraft with retractable gear, this is a legitimate shortcut and also a more realistic solution: you retract the gear and don't need to deal with the wheels at all.
• Protects the model. The finished piece isn't sitting directly on a shelf, so it gets scuffed less and is easier to handle.
• Versatility. One stand serves for various aircraft and helicopter models you build over time.

What to Keep in Mind

The stand holds the model by the lower part of the fuselage, so it's a good idea to plan for it during the build — many kits have a pre-molded hole or blanking plug in the fuselage for the stand, and it is easier to cut it out before closing the fuselage than afterward. Also consider the model's weight and size: large, heavy kits may need a sturdier solution. The stand can of course be painted or left in its original plastic.
