A resin landing gear wheel set for the later versions of the MiG-21 in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The resin print renders both the tread pattern and the shape of the rim without the mold seam that runs down the middle of a plastic wheel. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts for a model you already have.
The later versions of the MiG-21 received an enlarged dorsal tank, which raised the fuel load and with it the takeoff weight. That changed the silhouette markedly from the early aircraft, and along with the weight the landing gear was reworked too. That is exactly why the manufacturer has a separate wheel set for these versions and why swapping in the parts for the earlier ones is out of place.
Cut the print supports away with a scalpel and level the seating face so that the wheel sits square to the leg. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the tire a very dark gray and the rim separately, following the real subject. A faint layer of dust along the bottom of the tread gives the wheel its weight.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
