A resin set of landing gear wheels for a MiG-29 model in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models, carrying the suffix 3D in its name. With that suffix the manufacturer tells the set apart from the other wheel set for the same aircraft, which it also makes. The parts replace the plastic wheels from a kit, on which the parting line of the mold shows most.
The MiG-29 was built to operate from less prepared surfaces too, and the arrangement of the landing gear matches that: the nose leg with two wheels sits far back, a guard protects it against thrown-up stones and the main legs retract into the fuselage. The individual production batches differ in the details of the hubs and the covers, and that is precisely why makers of accessories offer more than one wheel variant for a single type.
Cut the supports off with a scalpel and level the mating spot with a file. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry, otherwise paint holds badly on the smooth surface. Paint the tire a very dark gray, not black. Settle a thin layer of dust on the tread and the sidewalls with pigment, which gives the wheel some weight.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
