A dark green camouflage shade of the American federal standard, matte. Ten milliliters, a lacquer formulation for the airbrush, thinned with the lacquer thinner of the same brand.

This dark green tone is one of the three pillars of the American camouflage from the time of the fighting in Southeast Asia. The scheme rested on a combination of dark green, medium green and sand brown on top, while the lower surfaces received either light gray or, on night machines, black. Anyone building a Phantom, a Skyraider, a Hercules or a transport helicopter of those years needs the whole trio together, and the range offers it under neighboring numbers.
The shade looks dark and deep, but unlike black it keeps a distinct green character. In scale it is worth lightening it somewhat, otherwise it merges on the model with the sand brown into one uniform dark area and the sharp transitions of the camouflage lose their legibility.
The matte surface the paint leaves matches the operational reality of combat machines. For decals, therefore, a gloss intermediate coat has to be prepared, or a silvery film will stay around them. Conversely, a matte undercoat is ideal for subsequent shading with oil paints, for pigments and for creating faded areas.
The package holds 10 ml of paint on a lacquer base. It is thinned with the company thinner, usually roughly half and half, with a smaller proportion of thinner for thicker paint; water will not dissolve it. The range counts above all on application with an airbrush, and once dry it holds a hard film resistant to the further steps of the build.
The transitions between colors on this camouflage were sprayed using templates and tended to be hard rather than misted. You imitate them with strips of masking putty or with a template lifted a few millimeters above the surface, which leaves the edge only slightly soft.
