A light gray paint for the undersides of aircraft, modern jets and for lightening shades. Volume 10 ml.
Responsibility details are not available.
Of all the shades in a modeling palette, light grays are among the most used. They cover the undersides of aircraft, form the base of the finish of modern jets and serve as a base under decals, because even thin lines stand out on them. On ground vehicles they suit tarpaulins, insulators and features that are not meant to belong to the camouflage pattern.
The second, less obvious role is mixing. A drop of light gray softens overly saturated shades and moves them toward a more realistic, air-lightened impression. That is exactly why a bottle of this paint empties faster than most of the others.
A light gray comes into its own best when working with lightened surfaces. The base shade is sprayed over the whole area, then a little of this paint is added to it and fine patches are sprayed into the middle of the individual panels. That gives the model a depth that a flat spray never has, and in scale it looks more natural.
The material is nitro based, thinned with the thinner of the same brand and applied with a gun. Light shades show through more easily than dark ones, so it pays to lay them over a neutral base and in thin coats. The bottle volume is 10 ml.
It has uses outside aircraft as well. It serves for a road surface, a concrete area or the dusty deposit on the underside of vehicles, where it is applied heavily thinned and in several light passes. Close an opened bottle carefully, as the solvent evaporates and the paint thickens sooner than one would expect.
