A rich yellow from the high-gloss GX range in an 18 ml bottle. The cured film mirrors on its own, so it needs no final gloss varnish.
Responsibility details are not available.
The GX range extended the basic palette for situations where the paint should mirror on its own. It carries more pigment and binder, the cured film flows out into a smoother surface, and the bottle holds eighteen milliliters instead of the usual ten. Modelers reach for it mainly for car bodies, cowlings and other large continuous areas that will later be polished or that will carry decals.
Yellow pigments are among the worst-covering shades there are. On gray or dark plastic, a tinge of dirtiness persists even after several coats, and the result drifts toward ocher. The reliable solution is a white base: on it, the shade brightens up after just a second coat, saving material and avoiding the buildup of thickness that would otherwise bury engraved detail. For bold yellow stripes, it also pays to lay the yellow down before the surrounding dark color and then mask it off.
The binder is the same type as in the base palette, that is, solvent-based, and it is thinned with thinner from the same brand. An open window and extraction are called for here too. The glossy surface has one extra advantage: it needs no separate gloss coat under decals, since the decal film sits down on it without a milky haze. However, the thicker gloss paint dries faster in the nozzle, so flush the airbrush right after finishing. Also let the bottle come to room temperature before spraying — cold paint atomizes poorly and the coat can come out grainy.
