NGA-01 Acrysion Gundam Assemble Color (Base Color) - White Matt

The color

White Matt is a white without gloss, listed among the base shades of the Acrysion Gundam Assemble Color range. White is the most frequent color for body surfaces on robot kits and at the same time the most demanding one: it covers worse than any other shade, every imperfection of the base shows on it, and a pure white surface with no shadow reads as flat. The matte finish helps with that, because it scatters light across the surface and lets the edges stand out.

Where it is useful

On the large areas of robot kits and on any other model with a light scheme. It is equally useful as a base: saturated colors, above all red and yellow, come out brightly over white, whereas straight on dark plastic they stay muddy. A white surface also gives away sanding scratches and unfilled gaps before you move on to the final shade.

Application tips

• Count on several thin coats; one heavy coat of white floods the engraving and still does not cover.
• It is thinned with the thinner intended for the Acrysion range; residues that are not yet dry can be washed off tools with water.
• The base has to be clean and degreased, as white draws into patches on grease.
• Matte white is easily soiled, so handle finished parts with a glove.
• So that the model does not read as flat, draw the engraved lines in with a darker shading shade.

For builders of robot kits and for modelers who need a matte white for large areas or a light base under saturated colors. The thinner, primer and clear coat are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
