A model paint from the Gunze Mr.Color range, the manufacturer's part number C511. The shade matches the green 4BO, the base finish of Soviet ground equipment.
Responsibility details are not available.
The green under the designation 4BO was the basic protective finish of Soviet ground equipment. Tanks, self-propelled guns, artillery and trucks all carried it, throughout the war and long afterward. It is a green with an olive cast, muted rather than saturated, which matches the fact that it was a camouflage color and not a ceremonial one.
Most often it serves as the overall base of a Soviet vehicle, on which shading, filters, chipped spots and dust only come later. It also has its place on artillery, on crates and on the small equipment that accompanies the vehicles. Where a machine served in winter, this shade forms the base under a whitewashed finish that is then partly worn away so that the original green shows through.
The thinner and the thinning ratio follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging; use a thinner intended for this range. Stir the paint thoroughly, because the pigment settles at the bottom. Apply it in several light coats, since one heavy coat floods the detail and dries less well. A large single-color area of a Soviet vehicle looks flat without further work, so it is worth lightening the center of the panels and darkening the edges before the clear coat and the other effects go on. Wash and degrease the surface beforehand and work in a well ventilated space.
The package contains the paint alone. Thinner, cleaner, brushes and spraying equipment are not included, unless stated otherwise.
