TOPAZ GOLD

Topaz Gold, a Gunze crystal pearl paint, 18 ml

A paint from the pearl range of the Japanese manufacturer Gunze, which gives a surface a fine iridescent sheen visible from every angle. It is not an opaque paint. The pigment is clear in itself and the resulting tone only arises in cooperation with the base it is applied over. Over a black base the shade looks different than over a white or a silver one, which can be used deliberately. The volume of the bottle is 18 ml. Chemically it is a paint of the lacquer type on a solvent base, which is thinned exclusively with thinners of the Mr.Color range, that is the standard, the leveling or the rapid one. Neither water-thinnable thinners nor the thinner for the Acrysion acrylic range are suitable for it.

Use

• always as a top layer over a smooth, well polished base
• by brush usually one to two layers, by airbrush two to three
• let it dry for several hours between layers; haste leads to clouding
• you control the tone of the result by the color of the base, black gives a deeper and white a lighter effect
• a clear coat applied over the top deepens the metallic impression
• it is thinned only with thinners of the Mr.Color range

Who the paint is for

For modelers of robot and fantasy kits, automobiles, motorcycles and everywhere an eye-catching pearl surface is wanted. It is also used on accents, helmets, fairings and small parts. Given that it is a non-opaque product, count on careful preparation of the base, because pearl will not cover shortcomings but bring them out.

The paint contains organic solvents and is flammable and irritant. Work in a well ventilated space away from an open flame, use respiratory protection when spraying and keep out of the reach of children.
