The gold shade of the True Metal range. It is not a liquid bottled paint for an airbrush but a thick metallic product in a jar: it is applied with a finger, a cloth, a cotton bud or a brush, buffed once it has set slightly, and only then does it gain its full metallic sheen. Gold is among the most brilliant shades in this range, so it holds doubly true that it suits small areas and detail; on a large continuous surface it would look unconvincing.
It will be appreciated by the modeler who works on fine detail and does not want to set up an airbrush for a small area. The key is a thin layer: a thick deposit dries slowly and cannot be buffed properly. Gold looks better on a smooth surface; it suits bringing it out with a dark wash in the recesses, so that the detail is not lost in a uniform sheen. A practical combination is to lay the gold tone on the raised surfaces and a darker metallic shade of the same range into the shadows. Once buffed, do not coat the surface with varnish needlessly, because that always dulls the sheen a little; if protection is necessary, try the reaction of the varnish beforehand on a scrap piece.
A solvent-based product. Work in a well-ventilated space, keep away from open flame and keep out of the reach of children.
