Grass tufts from the Grass TUFTS XXL range by Green Stuff World. The name gives the self-adhesive build and a height of 22 mm, so in a scene it is mature growth rather than a low turf. The BEIGE shade matches dried-out, straw-colored grass: the color of the steppe, of stubble, of the edges of field tracks and of every place where growth has burned off in the summer sun.
Beige grass has the advantage that on dark terrain it creates contrast at once and a scene gains depth. Place the tufts in clusters of unequal size and avoid regular gaps: nothing gives a model away faster than grass growing in a row. An interesting result comes from mixing shades: a few beige tufts among green ones read as naturally dried-out patches, while the opposite ratio reads as a landscape at the end of summer. For unity with the scene, light tinting of the root area in a darker tone helps, so that the growth is not hanging on the surface but rising out of it. The tufts can be trimmed or torn into smaller clumps.
For builders of dioramas, for players who are unifying the bases of a whole collection of figures, and for railroad modelers. The self-adhesive underside speeds the work up markedly, so even a beginner with no experience of scenic materials will manage the product.
