Suyata Mobile Armor — Armored Peanut is a stylized plastic kit from a line of cute models. It is not a scale model — the machine is fictional and no scale is stated for it.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit belongs among the stylized and cute models, the so-called egg models and cute models. It is not a model in any scale and it does not depict real equipment: the shape is deliberately shortened and rounded into the form of a peanut, after which it carries its name. The scale is not stated on models of this sort and comparing the size with models in 1:48 or 1:35 makes no sense. The Armored Peanut is one of several armored nuts of the Mobile Armor line from the maker Suyata; the individual pieces can be built on their own or collected as a whole set.
This is a fantasy line without a historical or technical subject — the design is original and deliberately caricatural. The approach follows on from the tradition of simplified models with outsized proportions, where the expression and the silhouette decide, not the accuracy of a scale. Kits of this kind tend to be smaller and less demanding than classic scale kits, so they serve as an entry into modeling and as a restful project between more complicated builds.
Stylized shapes form large smooth surfaces on which every remaining sprue nub and every unsanded seam shows — do not underestimate the cleaning of the parts, therefore. Apply a primer before painting; a saturated and even coat of paint looks best on such a shape. Dose the weathering sparingly: a fine dark wash into the engraved lines will bring the shape out, while heavy mud effects would suppress the cartoon style. If the joints hold by themselves, use glue only where it is necessary.
The model is supplied as a kit to be assembled. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
