An AK Interactive modeling paint from the Real Colors line in the shade RAF PRU Blue to British standard BS 381C, reference number 636. 17 ml bottle.
Responsibility details are not available.
PRU Blue is a rich, darker blue, listed in the British standard BS 381C under reference number 636. The abbreviation in the name refers to British photo-reconnaissance aircraft, which received this shade over the whole airframe, both upper and lower surfaces. A single-color blue coat was meant to conceal the aircraft at high altitudes, where the sky is darker than near the ground, which is why the usual two-tone camouflage was not applied to it.
The shade is intended for British photo-reconnaissance aircraft with an overall blue coat covering the whole airframe. It also works elsewhere a rich blue without a shift toward purple is needed. Because it is standardized, it coordinates with other shades listed under BS numbers, and can be used to bring add-on parts and small components into the same palette.
The bottle must be shaken thoroughly before use, since the pigment settles to the bottom. The paint is applied in several thin coats onto a degreased, dust-free surface, ideally over a primer that evens out the absorbency of plastic, filler and add-on parts. Thinning, spray pressure and tool cleaning follow the manufacturer's instructions on the package; use the thinner recommended for this line. With an overall single-color coat, unevenness in the layer shows more than elsewhere, so spray in overlapping passes and let the model dry between coats.
The paint alone is supplied in a 17 ml bottle. Thinner, primer, final varnish and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
