Shade FS 34227 is a light, slightly grayed green found in desert three-color schemes and on training aircraft. This shade comes in two paint lines, and this is the water-thinnable one. For modelers, that means easier cleanup of the airbrush and the option to work without an extraction fan.
The surface dries to a semi-gloss, which suits it for applying decals afterward. On smooth plastic it is better to thin it with a product from the same line rather than water, since water reduces adhesion. It cannot be mixed with the lacquer lines.
It pays to apply light shades first and the darker ones over them, since the reverse order needs significantly more coats. This applies doubly for three-color schemes, since each additional coat raises the risk that masking tape will touch paint that has not fully dried.
Light greens are more sensitive to the base than dark shades. Over a gray base they lose brightness and shift toward a grayed tone, so a white or very light base is worth using.
