The weathered variant of the olive: Olive Drab weathered tipo 1 Matt from Lifecolor is a matte tone for surfaces that already have sun, dust and rain behind them.
Responsibility details are not available.
A weathered surface differs from a fresh coat not only in being dirty. The shade under the grime changes too, because the sun and the weather gradually pull it toward a lighter and duller tone. It is precisely this difference that the shade designated weathered tipo 1 names, and that is why dust soiling behaves differently on it than on a rich base.
On a faded surface dust has less contrast, so the layer itself looks finer and changes the texture rather than the color. That is an advantage: the surface can be dusted more heavily without giving the impression that the machine has been coated in flour. Dried mud, on the other hand, jumps out on such a surface at once, because it has a shape and an edge of its own that a faded ground will not swallow.
For modelers who work with modulation and want the difference between a worn and a sheltered surface already in the base layer rather than only in the grime itself. It also serves well where a machine is meant to look long in service without being obviously muddy.
Keep the paint out of the reach of children, ensure ventilation when spraying and protect your airways and eyes.
