The orange red Rosso Minio Italiano RAL 2001 from Lifecolor. A warm rich tone that shows through under a layer of dust wherever the surface is worn.

An orange red tone is an exception among the earthy shades of soiling, and that is exactly why it can be worked to striking effect. Dust and mud subdue it into a brown-rust position, but everywhere the layer is thin or the surface has been worn, the rich red pushes its way back. That creates a contrast which gives a dusty surface warmth and keeps the whole model from sliding into a uniform gray.
On a warm ground, read dust differently than on an olive surface. A grayish dust pushes it toward a faded brick position, a yellow sand instead brings out its orange element and lights the surface up. Dried mud covers this shade more than any other, because it has a brown value of its own, so let the rich red come through mainly where the mud does not reach: above the level of the splashes, on sheltered surfaces and in places where something rubs regularly.
For modelers of Italian vehicles and for anyone looking for a warm rich red tone that can be weakened with a layer of dust and still not vanish. It also serves well as a color accent in an otherwise earthy scene.
Keep the paint out of the reach of children, ensure ventilation when spraying and protect your airways and eyes.
