Tamiya X-17 Pink 10 ml - a Gloss Acrylic Paint

X-17 Pink is a saturated pink acrylic paint from Tamiya, from the Acrylic MINI range, in a bottle holding 10 ml. In the Tamiya system the designation X means a gloss shade (the matte shades carry the XF designation). It is a classic opaque paint based on water-thinnable acrylic resins: it is applied over an area and covers the surface beneath, unlike the transparent tinting shades of the same range.

Use

• Gloss racing and sports finishes on cars and motorcycles, where pink features in sponsor schemes.
• Civilian and commercial vehicles, advertising markings, accessories for dioramas and city scenes.
• Figures and sci-fi or anime models, where a pronounced gloss pink comes in useful.
• Mixing shades: as a component for skin tones or for fine-tuning warm rusty and pinkish-brown tones.
• Airbrush and brush; for spraying it is thinned with Tamiya X-20A thinner.

Application tips

Stir the paint thoroughly before use. The more saturated shades, pink among them, cover better over a light base, so a light primer (white or gray) works well. Spray in several thin coats instead of one heavy one, which prevents runs and preserves the gloss. To achieve a matte look, Tamiya X-21 Flat Base matting additive can be mixed into the gloss paint. Before it dries, the paint and the tools can be washed off with water; once dry, use the matching thinner or cleaner.

A volume of 10 ml is ideal for secondary areas, details and mixing, where a large bottle would go mostly unused.
