The second part of a combined set of accessories for a model of the battleship USS Arizona in 1:200. Intended to take a build further with the fine elements a plastic part cannot manage.
Responsibility details are not available.
USS Arizona was a battleship of the Pennsylvania class launched in 1915. Her main armament consisted of twelve 356 mm guns in four triple turrets. The ship was lost on December 7, 1941 in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor after her forward magazines exploded, and her wreck lies to this day at the place where a memorial now stands above it. In 1:200 the hull comes out about ninety centimeters long, so even small deck equipment is visible on the model.
This is a combined set of accessory parts, marked as the second part. The first part is a separate product and the two complete each other, so it pays to go through the contents of both before you start the build. The particular list of parts and their placement on the model is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Accessories for large ship models tend to be very fine, so have tweezers, a sharp blade and a light surface ready on which the small parts will not get lost. Glue in spots with cyanoacrylate and wipe the excess away at once, before it sets. Fit the parts only after sanding and a base coat on the surrounding area, so that a layer of paint does not clog their relief.
The set aims at a modeler who is building the battleship USS Arizona in the large scale and wants to give her credibility in the places where a plastic part has its limits. It will be appreciated rather by a patient builder aiming at a result for a display case. The package contains accessory parts only; the model of the ship, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
