An injection-molded plastic kit of the first-generation Mazda Savanna RX-7 sports coupe in 1:24 scale. The manufacturer is the Japanese brand Fujimi and the item belongs to its automotive range, in which the individual releases have their own sequence designation. The A-spec addition in the name refers to the particular version of the subject in this release. The number of sprues, parts and decals is stated on the box and in the instructions.
The Savanna RX-7 was the first generation of the sports coupe with which Mazda carried on its tradition of rotary engines at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s. The car was built around a compact Wankel engine mounted forward, behind the front axle, and it had pop-up front headlights, a low nose and a liftback body. Low weight, a balanced distribution of mass and the engine's willingness to rev high made it a favorite car both for everyday driving and for amateur motorsport.
Before painting, wash the body, sand down the parting seams and apply a filler primer, which will reveal any imperfections. A glossy surface comes out best with an airbrush in several thin coats; let the paint cure and only then polish it. Settle the decals onto a gloss surface and seal them with a final clear coat. Glue the clear parts and the chrome details carefully, ideally with a glue intended for clear plastic, so that the windows do not fog.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
