1:32 WWI Spandau 08/15 Machine Guns (2pcs, Resin)

Spandau 08/15 machine guns 1:32 (GasPatch, 2 pieces)

A resin set of two finely cast German Spandau 08/15 aircraft machine guns in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory for its armament. The resin castings capture the fine structure of the cooling jacket, the breech and the sights far more convincingly than coarser plastic parts, so once fitted they markedly raise the level of the model's armament. GasPatch makes fine resin and metal details and is valued among modelers precisely for the accuracy of its aircraft machine guns and turnbuckles. The parts are intended for more experienced modelers used to working with resin.

The real subject

Spandau 08/15 was the designation for the lightened aircraft version of the German MG 08 machine gun of the First World War. It was used as fixed, forward-firing armament on German fighter aircraft and fired synchronized through the propeller disc. The characteristic perforated cooling jacket around the barrel is among its typical features.

Usage tips

• Wash the parts free of mold release agent and separate them carefully from the casting blocks.
• Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate), not with cement for plastic.
• Sand and clean them up with respiratory protection.
• Shade the metal of the weapon dark and bring out the perforated jacket with a fine wash.

Who the set is for

• For modelers of German First World War aircraft in 1:32 scale.
• For those who want convincing armament instead of the plastic parts from a kit.
• For more experienced builders used to working with resin.

This is a resin detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
