A photo-etched metal detail set of additional shrapnel screens for the German Panther Ausf.G medium tank in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Aber. Thin metal replaces the thick plastic parts with a true sheet thickness and brackets. This is an accessory for building up a kit, not a tank model.
The Panther Ausf.G was a late production version of the German Panther medium tank. The additional sheet-metal screens protected the sides and the running gear against shell splinters and shaped charge ammunition.
Nip the parts out of the photo-etched fret and clean them up, make the bends on a bending tool or along the scored lines, and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a coat of primer for adhesion. Try the screens against the model before gluing and match them to the shape of the hull.
