Masking film for the deck 1:700 for the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise CV-6 from Artwox Model is a set of finely cut self-adhesive stencils for spraying the deck areas. Meant for the Academy 14224 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for a ship kit in 1:700 scale; it is not a model. The package holds thin self-adhesive film cut exactly to the outlines of the deck areas. At this scale a matching mask would be very hard indeed to cut by hand, because a number of the shapes are narrower than two millimeters.
Have tweezers with fine flat jaws and a scalpel with a fresh blade ready. Lift the pieces off the sheet with the tip of the blade rather than with a fingernail, and transfer them with tweezers. Never touch the adhesive side with your fingers, as grease stays on it and the film then does not hold. Seat small pieces dry in place, check the position against the light and only then press them down with a blunt wooden point.
In 1:700 very little paint is enough. Lower the pressure, bring the nozzle closer and spray in short bursts, so that no wet coat builds up on a small area and creeps under the edge of the mask. If the deck is to be toned, do it after the film is off, or the differences will be lost. Draw the mask off with tweezers at a sharp angle right after the paint has set. A very thin matte varnish comes in handy at the end, evening the surface out without filling the engraved detail.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package. The accessory is cut for the Academy 14224 kit; please check the match before buying.
