This is a resin accessory set from the ELEFANT brand in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the vehicle but a small detail accessory. The set contains the tubes of the launchers with grenades inserted, that is the variant with the charge in place, as against the form with empty tubes. According to the name it is intended for use with holders from the kit or with photo-etched holders, and its extent is enough for one vehicle.
Smoke grenade launchers were mounted on German armored vehicles of the Second World War period in groups of several pieces on the sides of the turret or the hull. A fired grenade created a screen in front of the vehicle that allowed the crew to break contact and move away. It was a small but visually prominent element, and on a model it is usually found in the best visible place of the silhouette, so it pays to replace the coarser plastic part with a more accurate casting with a drilled muzzle.
Wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water first so that paint holds on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a sharp scalpel or a saw and level the surface; hold small parts in tweezers so that they do not fly off. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; plastic cement has no effect on resin. It is practical to paint the launchers separately and to glue them on only after the base coat on the hull, because a sharp transition of colors arises around them. At the end a light dry brush and fine dust with a pigment come in useful, so that the part fits into the overall patina of the vehicle.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
