An injection-molded plastic kit of an American nuclear submarine in 1:350 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer Mikromir. The model captures the smooth hull of a Cold War underwater vessel. Because of the small scale it is a compact model that suits a display case as well as the completion of a sea scene.
USS Daniel Webster was one of the American nuclear missile submarines of the Lafayette class, which formed the backbone of the naval part of the nuclear deterrent of the United States. She carried ballistic missiles launched from a submerged position and operated during the Cold War. One notable feature of this boat was the unusual placement of her diving planes on the bow instead of on the sail.
The hull is glued with liquid cement for plastic, and once the joints have dried we sand them down and remove the parting lines. We recommend a primer undercoat and airbrush spraying in shades of naval black and gray. A fine wash and a flat varnish will pick out the waterline and the anti-sonar cladding of the hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
