The kit captures the Japanese helicopter destroyer Ise (DDH-182) of the Hyuga class in 1:350 scale. The model from the Fujimi brand in the Deluxe edition comes as a full-hull version in injection-molded plastic and, compared with the basic release, it also holds photo-etched parts and a set of shipboard helicopters. The flat through flight deck and the island superstructure give the model the look of a small aircraft carrier.
Ise is a vessel of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force of the Hyuga class. She is a helicopter destroyer with a through flight deck designed above all for operating helicopters, for anti-submarine warfare and for command duties. She serves as the flagship of task forces and is a typical example of modern Japanese vessels with a deck for flight operations.
The whole hull is best glued with a thin cement for plastic, and the photo-etched parts fixed with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a base coat (primer) before painting and spray with an airbrush; the large area of the flight deck calls for an even coat and for careful application of the deck markings from the decals. We recommend painting the helicopters separately and fitting them last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
