The second set of photo-etched parts from Fujimi, intended for the model of the Japanese carrier battleship Ise in 1:350 scale. The photo-etched parts replace thick-walled plastic parts with fine metal ones — typically railings, ladders, gratings and other small structures that cannot be rendered faithfully in plastic. This is not a standalone model but an add-on to the base kit; it is designed primarily for Fujimi kits.
Ise was a Japanese battleship completed in 1917. After the Battle of Midway she was rebuilt in 1942 and 1943 into a hybrid carrier battleship — the aft gun turrets were replaced by a flight deck with a hangar and catapults for floatplanes. This unusual configuration makes Ise one of the most interesting subjects of the Japanese wartime fleet.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface, bend them with tweezers or a photo-etch bending tool and bond them with small amounts of super glue. Degrease the parts before painting and prime them with a metal primer. Work patiently — fine parts deform easily.
This is an add-on set — the base ship model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
