Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Austro-Hungarian battleship SMS Szent István in 1:350 scale from Trumpeter. The model builds the last of the four dreadnoughts of the Tegetthoff class. The hull is laid out as a split one and can be built as a full hull on the stand provided; the set holds finely rendered deck detail and photo-etched parts. The finished model measures approximately 43 cm.
The Szent István was the fourth and last battleship of the Tegetthoff class, armed with main 305mm Skoda guns in three triple turrets; these were among the first dreadnoughts with triple turrets. The ship entered service in 1915. She was sunk in June 1918 near the island of Premuda after being hit by torpedoes from an Italian torpedo boat; her sinking was captured on period film.
Use thin modeling cement on the plastic, and fill and sand the fine seams. Spray the hull and the superstructures with an airbrush; glue the railings and the fine photo-etched parts with super glue only after the base coat. Set the deck off from the hull, bring out the panel lines with a wash and go over the edges carefully with a dry brush. For the full-hull version, consider a naval stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
