A plastic model of the Panzerjäger Bü-181 Bestmann in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Stransky — the anti-tank version of the trainer armed with Panzerfausts.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded kit of the anti-tank version of the German aircraft Bücker Bü-181 Bestmann in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Stransky. Unlike the ordinary trainer it captures the improvised tank hunter (Panzerjäger) with underwing racks for single-use Panzerfaust anti-tank weapons. Besides the plastic and the decals the box is usually completed by photo-etched parts and masking film.
At the close of the Second World War some Bü-181 trainers were converted into a makeshift anti-tank role. They carried sets of Panzerfausts under the wings and were meant to serve as an emergency weapon against advancing tanks. It was a desperate improvised solution of the last months of the war, and it differs from the standard Bestmann trainer precisely in this armament and in the racks.
Glue the kit with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Mask the glazing with the supplied film, prime the surface and apply the paint with an airbrush. Pay attention to the small racks with the Panzerfausts — they are the main recognition feature of this version. Settle the decals with a decal softener.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
