A resin figure of a German fighter pilot from the early part of the Second World War, together with a pilot seat shaped for the cockpit of an early single-seat fighter of the Emil series, in 1:48 scale from Aerobonus (the Aires range). It is a detail accessory for the cockpit, not a stand-alone airplane model.
The figure represents a Luftwaffe fighter pilot of 1939 to 1941, that is from the period of the campaign in France and the Battle of Britain. The pilot is shown in period gear — a leather flying helmet, an oxygen mask, a life vest and a flight suit, as German fighter pilots wore them in the fighting over the Channel. He fills the cockpit faithfully and moves the model forward in both scale and period terms.
Resin parts for more experienced modelers: wash off the mold release agent, separate them from the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue, and protect your airways when sanding. Apply a primer before painting, lay the colors on in thin coats and bring out the details with a wash. The head and arms are usually separate, so the pose can be adjusted slightly; check the fit dry.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
