A photo-etched set of seat belts from the Czech company Eduard. This is not a kit but an accessory for the cockpit of a plastic model in 1:48 scale that you have already bought. The STEEL designation says that the belts are etched from steel instead of the usual brass. Steel is more pliable, holds a curve once it has been shaped, and the belt then falls over the seat naturally instead of sticking out into space like a metal strip.
The Mi-24D is an earlier production version of the Soviet attack helicopter from the Mil design bureau. The front part of the fuselage is formed by two separate cockpits under individual canopies placed one above the other, and behind them follows a cargo compartment for carrying people. On this type the interior is easily open to view on a model, because it is commonly built with the doors open or with the canopy raised, and the seat belts are then the most conspicuous detail of the seats.
Separate the belts with a sharp scalpel on a hard backing, and never break them out. Suggest the bend and a slight waviness before gluing, because once attached the part is hard to shape. Degrease the gluing surface and use cyanoacrylate glue in a tiny drop applied with a pin, and a two-part epoxy with a longer time for alignment on larger parts. Let the buckles stand freely above the surface of the belt; pressed down they lose their three-dimensional look. If you paint the belts, apply a thin primer suitable for metal first and spray the paint.
The set is an accessory for a plastic model, not a kit in its own right. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package. The target kit is not stated here, so check the match with your model beforehand.
