The UZR-60 training missile for the MiG-29 in 1:48 scale from Plusmodel — a resin accessory reproducing the training version of the Soviet short-range missile, intended according to the manufacturer for MiG-29 models.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin casting of the Soviet UZR-60 training missile in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel. It is an accessory of aircraft armament, not an airplane model; the manufacturer intends it for models of the MiG-29 fighter. Training munitions with prominent markings are an original way to add authenticity to the stores.
The R-60 missile was one of the most widespread Soviet short-range air-to-air missiles — a small, light, infrared-guided weapon for close combat. A training version designated UZR-60 was produced for instruction: a round intended for practice in handling, loading and target acquisition with the seeker head, but with no live launch capability. Training missiles were usually marked clearly so that they could be told from live munitions at a glance. They could be seen on the stores of MiG-29s in routine training operations.
Wash the casting free of mold release agent residue, cut off the casting blocks and sand them down — protect your airways while sanding. Glue it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The slender body of the missile deserves careful alignment and a smooth finish; for the prominent stripes of training munitions we recommend working from period photographs, as the markings differed between units.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
