A two-in-one sanding aid in a medium grit: a sanding plate and sandpaper in one tool, in a black version.
Responsibility details are not available.
The aid joins two things a modeler usually keeps separate on the bench: a sanding plate and sandpaper. The rigid plate keeps the surface flat, so an edge is not rounded off and a joint lines up after sanding. The paper side is for the finish sanding and for places the plate cannot reach. A medium grit is the most used position: it suits leveling a joint, the remains left after a part is separated and shaping a small modification, without getting straight into deep scratches.
After the coarse removal of material and before the final smoothing. A coarse grit takes off quickly but leaves scratches that then have to be chased down laboriously; a fine grit on its own takes a long time. A medium grit links the two. For an overview the range is color coded, and this item is in a black version.
Guide the tool in smooth strokes in one direction and without pressure, as it is the grit that removes the material, not the force of your hand. Break off often and look at the surface against the light, because the shape is lost faster than you expect. Knock the dust out or brush it away as you go, as a clogged surface stops sanding and begins to smear. Clean and degrease the sanded area before gluing and painting, or neither the glue nor the paint will hold.
The model, further abrasive papers and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
