The set joins two elements of airfield handling: boarding ladders for the two-seat version of the Su-27 in the early form and chocks placed under the landing gear wheels. Everything is cast from resin in 1:48 scale. This is an accessory for a built model, not a kit of the aircraft. The number of parts and their dimensions can be found on the packaging.
Chocks under the wheels are a detail that is missing from a model almost every time, and yet one single thing settles the matter: a real aircraft on the apron never stands without them. Together with a ladder wheeled up to both cockpits they give a scene the logic of a parked machine that is being worked on. The two-seat version of the Su-27 has its cockpits one behind the other and a taller spine, so the ladder is visually dominant on it.
Resin castings carry traces of mold release agent from the mold. Before gluing and painting, therefore, wash the parts in warm water with a drop of detergent, rinse them in clean water and let them dry completely. If you leave this step out, paint will not hold on the smooth surface and can be scraped off with a fingernail once it has dried. A thin coat of primer follows, which evens the shade of the resin out and reveals the fine scratches left by sanding, which would otherwise hide under the covering paint and come out only on the finished model.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. It is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for it. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
