The USS Bon Homme Richard in 1:500 scale is a plastic kit of the historic sailing frigate from the manufacturer Mistercraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit captures the famous sailing frigate Bon Homme Richard of 1765. The assembled model is about 150 mm long and consists of a low number of parts, so it is a fairly quick project. The package contains sprues of injection-molded parts, decals and instructions with one color scheme.
The Bon Homme Richard was a wooden three-masted frigate made famous by the American captain John Paul Jones during the War of Independence. It is not a modern ship of the same name but a period sailing vessel armed with rows of guns. Its name is forever linked with the legendary night battle off Flamborough Head in 1779.
With sailing ships it pays to paint the hull and the decks before assembly and to varnish the wooden surfaces. Cut the small parts off with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Display the model on a suitable stand, and a fine wash into the recesses will bring out the detail of the sides and the decks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
