Styrene strip 2.00 x 4.00 x 350 mm (8 units)

The pack contains eight pieces of plastic profile of rectangular section 2.00 x 4.00 mm and 350 mm long. It is not a kit and not an accessory for one particular model, but modeling material in styrene from which you make the parts yourself. The numbers in the name are millimeters, not a scale.

Use

• Frames, battens, reinforcements and floor beams on a model and in a diorama.
• A replacement for a thin part that broke during the build or is missing from the box.
• Spacer blocks that hold an exact gap while larger assemblies are being glued.
• Strengthening a joint from inside a fuselage, a body or a box, where the reinforcement is not seen.

How to work with it

Styrene is not divided with a saw but with a sharp knife: score the profile square across the edge and snap off the rest, then true the cut with a file or abrasive paper. If you need several pieces of equal length, set up a simple stop and cut against it, otherwise small differences add up and the structure will twist. It is glued with thin solvent cement for plastic, which is drawn into the joint by capillary action and welds it; leave super glue for places where you need it to hold at once. The material sands, fills and paints the same as the plastic of a kit, and before spraying it is enough to degrease the surface.

Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package. Store the profiles lying flat at full length, so that the long pieces do not warp.
