A combined package of accessories from Artwox Model. According to the name it contains a wooden deck, a masking sheet and photo-etched parts. It is not a kit: you have to buy the model itself separately. The set is cut for one specific kit, the S-Model PS700003.
The wooden deck is a thin veneer with pre-printed plank laying and an adhesive backing. It is glued onto the plastic deck and replaces the engraving the kit has molded into the plastic: wood has a grain of its own, so even unpainted it looks livelier than the best sprayed plastic. The masking sheet covers the areas the veneer does not and serves for spraying them. The photo-etched parts in thin metal replace elements that cannot be molded in plastic at this scale.
First finish and sand the plastic deck. Every overhang and all flash has to go, as the veneer is thin and will show any unevenness underneath it. Degrease the deck. Lay the veneer on dry, check the fit of the cutouts and only then take the protective film off, in sections from the center out to the edges. Press it down with a flat tool, not just with your finger. Trim around the superstructure with a fresh, really sharp blade; a blunt knife tears the veneer. The etch comes after the deck, otherwise you will bend the parts as you work.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. Before you buy, check that your kit matches the one the set is intended for.
