An injection-molded plastic kit of a ship in 1:700 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi. It captures the fast battleship Kongo of the Imperial Japanese Navy in the form corresponding to 1941. The model is intended to be assembled and painted.
The Kongo was the lead ship of the class of fast battleships of the same name. She originally came into being as a battlecruiser and was modernized repeatedly into a fast battleship. The 1941 configuration captures her form at the beginning of the war in the Pacific.
Build the hull as a full hull or as a waterline version, according to the form of the kit. The tall pagoda superstructure and the fine elements are worth supplementing with photo-etched parts, which are sold separately. Paint with an airbrush, set the decks apart by masking and create the weathering with thin washes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
