A clear canopy with masks for a model of the Macchi C.200 in 1:72 scale, cut for the AML and Special Hobby kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Macchi C.200 was an Italian fighter of the Second World War and was among the types with which the Regia Aeronautica entered the war. In 1:72 scale it appears mostly from smaller manufacturers, and it is exactly with those that the canopy tends to be the weakest point of the build.
A replacement clear canopy and masks for it. According to its name the set is intended for the AML and Special Hobby kits, so the shape follows the fuselage of those models and there is no guessing where to trim the canopy.
Always offer the clear part up first and adjust the fit in small steps on fine abrasive paper; you can always take more off, but you cannot put it back. Super glue does not belong on a clear part, its fumes will fog the surface, so reach for canopy glue or for a PVA glue that dries clear. Apply the enclosed masks before spraying, onto a clean and degreased surface, and press the edges down with a blunt tip so that paint cannot creep under them. Lay the paint on in thin coats and remove the mask as soon as the paint is dry, while the layer is still not fully hard. The clarity of the part benefits from a brief dip in gloss clear coat, which evens out the fine scratches left by sanding and polishing.
For builders who want to display the model with an open canopy or simply to replace a thick clear part. The package contains only the canopy with masks; the aircraft model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
