A sheet of decals in 1:72 scale from the British manufacturer Xtradecal, focused on the T.7 version, that is the two-seat training form of the Meteor. The product is an accessory for a build, not a kit. It will be appreciated by the modeler who already has a Meteor model and is looking for markings other than those on the sheet supplied in the box.
The Gloster Meteor was the first British jet combat aircraft to be brought into squadron service. It was marked by a pair of engines mounted directly in the wing, which gave it a characteristic silhouette. The T.7 version came about as an unarmed two-seat trainer with a lengthened forward fuselage and a longer canopy for instructor and pupil. It was in this role that the Meteor stayed in use long after the single-seat combat versions began to give way to more modern types, and it became the machine on which a whole generation of pilots converted.
The key to clean work is correct soaking. Use lukewarm and not hot water, and leave the decal in it only long enough for it to be shifted on the paper, typically a few tens of seconds. An over-soaked decal loses most of its adhesive, will not stay on the model and breaks while being moved. Rather let the decal rest for a moment on a paper towel once it is out; the adhesive activates out of the water as well and the film stays pliable but firm.
The product is a decal sheet, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
