The light fortification works model 37, popularly nicknamed Ropik after the ROP abbreviation, formed the most numerous element of the Czechoslovak border fortifications built in 1937 and 1938. Type A was double-sided, that is with two firing rooms aimed to both sides toward the neighboring works; the number in the designation gives the angle between the axes of fire, in this case 160 degrees. The angled standard has the two parts of the work bent against one another, so that the front wall follows the ground better and is less exposed to direct fire. The works were built of concrete, had a reinforced front wall with a layer of earth, and their main armament was machine guns in embrasures protected by armor plates.
Examine the casting first, sand the parting lines and any flash, and wash the whole thing so that no residue of the mold release agent stays on the surface. Concrete is modeled well by spraying a gray base and then stippling or using a sponge in several close shades; irregularity is wanted here. A dark wash will bring out the recessed detail, and earth pigments the lower part of the work. For setting it into terrain, modeling paste and static grass come in handy.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
