Soviet prewar awards, part one, 1:10 from Quinta Studio is an accessory for finishing busts and large figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Quinta Studio set brings a rendition of Soviet medals and decorations from the period before the Second World War up to 1943 in 1:10 scale. It is intended for finishing busts and large figures, where the chest of the figure is big enough for the orders and badges to be made out. It is an accessory, not a figure in its own right.
The Soviet system of awards changed quickly during the war, and 1943 also brought an extensive revision of the uniforms, which affected how they were worn. Sets divided at this line help modelers keep period accuracy: what was common at the start of the fighting need not suit a figure from the last years of the war. Part one covers the earlier part of this period. The modeler can thus place the figure in time before reaching for a brush.
First finish the uniform including the last coat and let it cure thoroughly. Lay out the positions dry, because the position of the awards on the chest on Soviet uniforms followed convention and shifting them afterwards does not pay off. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, work in small steps and with good lighting. Spread the work over several sessions; tiredness shows on small details at once.
