A set of Volk Racing ZE40 wheels for models of cars in 1:24 scale. It is an accessory, not a kit of a car: a scaled-down version of a particular Japanese racing wheel with which you replace the simplified wheels from the box.
The real subject. Volk Racing is the racing range of the Japanese company Rays Engineering, one of the best known makers of light wheels for motorsport. The ZE40 is a ten-spoke wheel with thin spokes made by a technology combining forging and rolling of the rim; the aim is the lowest possible weight while the strength is kept. Among enthusiasts for Japanese cars it belongs among the most cited designs of all and appears on sporting coupes, hot hatches and circuit builds alike. A scaled-down version of thin spokes is exactly what usually does not come off on the injection-molded wheels from base kits.
Separate the parts carefully and sand the cut surfaces down. Thin spokes are easily lost under a thick layer of paint: spray in several light layers and hold the airbrush further away than you are used to. The typical finishes of the subject are bronze, anthracite, white and polished silver; a polished edge of the rim is suggested with a thin line of metallic paint applied with a brush. Leave the metal and metallic shades until the end, as they are harder to overspray and to mask. Before gluing, check that the hole fits the axle pin of your kit, and if need be widen it carefully with a drill.
It is an accessory for a model, not a kit of a car. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
