The maker is Big Planes Kits, a brand aimed at transport and utility machines that turn up only rarely. The model is meant to be glued and painted; check the exact contents of the box against the box itself and the instructions supplied.
The PC-6 Porter is a Swiss single-engine aircraft designed for short takeoff and landing from unprepared strips. Thanks to its exceptional takeoff performance, sturdy landing gear and great load capacity it found a use as a supply and liaison machine in the mountains, in the jungle and at polar stations, and later also as an aircraft for parachutists. Later forms with a turboprop engine markedly raised its performance. The AU-23 version came about as an armed conversion of the type for reconnaissance and support duties and served outside Southeast Asia as well.
In 1:144 scale the whole model is smaller than the palm of your hand, so the cleanliness of the work decides. Cut the parts off the sprue with nippers and level the remains of the sprue gate with a file, so that no gap appears in the joint. Glue with thin cement drop by drop and wipe any excess off at once - at this scale every trace of glue tells. Glue the propeller, the landing gear and any armament on only after clear-coating. Use a gloss clear coat before the decals and a decal softener once dry; given the size of the parts it suits to transfer the decals with a damp brush rather than with tweezers.
