This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:144 scale captures the British Westland Wessex helicopter in the HU.5 version and the related HU.5C. The package holds clear parts for the cabin and the windows and a decal sheet with several Royal Navy marking options.
The Westland Wessex was a British licensed development of the Sikorsky S-58, an all-metal multirole helicopter. The HU.5 version was powered by a pair of Rolls-Royce Gnome turbine engines, which raised both performance and safety when putting troops down. HU.5 machines served with the Royal Marines and with Royal Navy units.
Thanks to the small scale the model is quick to build. Clean the joints of the fuselage up and fill them, and glue the clear parts with canopy glue. For naval and assault schemes, matte shades applied with an airbrush are the right choice; bring out the small details and the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
